Empowering women and partners with knowledge and understanding to achieve a positive birth and parenting experience

Who We Are
  Sue Butler

I have been nursing since January 1977 until the present day. Initially I graduated in New Zealand in 1980 as a registered nurse. Having an affinity for mothers & babies I undertook further study in 1983 as a midwife. I went on to work in all areas of maternity, a highlight being a team midwife & able to have continuity of care throughout pregnancy, birthing & caring for the family in their home.

Moving to Australia, I settled on the Gold Coast & gained employment at The Tweed Hospital working in all areas of midwifery, where I continue to work part time. A goal I have for all women & families, is to encourage parents to make appropriate informed choices for their birth pathway.

By teaming up with fellow midwife Sue Watson to start our business partnership, this provided an opportunity for us to extend the options for birthing & parenting education in the community.

I live with husband of 22 years, Dave & dog, Woody. Having our daughter Kylie & family nearby, we are able to spend time with her two children, Luke & Ella.

  Sue Watson

I graduated as a midwife over 26 years ago. After graduating I lived & worked overseas for 2 years, then returned to Melbourne & practiced midwifery for a further 4 years. My husband, Peter, & I moved to the sunny Tweed Coast where we have established ourselves.

For the past 20 years I have practiced midwifery & during this time have been blessed with two children, Kaitlyn & Rhys.

From an early age I knew I wanted to be a midwife. The sheer wonder & amazement of pregnancy, birth & the bond between mother & baby inspired me to want to be with women & their partners during this precious & memorable journey.

Over many years of working on the Tweed Coast I have been able to pass on my knowledge, experiences & enthusiasm of childbirth & parenting to many families.

Through our unique one day classes, Stork, Baby & You, Sue & I are delighted to have the opportunity to inspire, share our knowledge & connect with many other 'parents-to-be' during this wondrous time in your lives.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse
Midwife
Group Skills Training

Senior First Aid

We are both currently employed at The Tweed Hospital and we have worked there for many years. We enjoy our jobs and are passionate about what we do.
