Stork, Baby & You Team
  Sue Butler

I have been nursing since January 1977 until the present day. Initially I graduated in New Zealand in 1980 as a registered nurse. Having an affinity for mothers & babies I undertook further study in 1983 as a midwife. I went on to work in all areas of maternity, a highlight being a team midwife & able to have continuity of care throughout pregnancy, birthing & caring for the family in their home.

Moving to Australia, I settled on the Gold Coast & gained employment at The Tweed Hospital working in all areas of midwifery, where I continue to work part time. A goal I have for all women & families, is to encourage parents to make appropriate informed choices for their birth pathway.

Stork, Baby & You was started to provide an opportunity to extend the options for birthing & parenting education in the community.

I live with my husband of 24 years, Dave & dog, Woody. Having our daughter Kylie & family nearby, we are able to spend time with her two children, Luke & Ella. Our other daughter, Karma is living in Britain.

Hi I'm Susie. I've worked as a midwife since 1981, working in hospitals for around 17 years & then as a community midwife working in the home visiting postnatal area.

I am married for 28years to a wonderful man & we have 2 very lovely daughters 22 & 20 years. I work full time & very much enjoy my weekends spending time with my husband or time on my own.
