Dear Mum’s and Dad’s to be…
When I fell pregnant the amount of advice and opinions Steve and I received about labour and the birth process was overwhelming (as I’m sure you are pretty well aware of). We received good advice and we
also received some very interesting advice of what we should or should not do. It became evident that people have a different idea, expectations and experience of labour. Whilst this is normal for any
couple it became pretty tiresome. After many stories, the whole labour and birth process can seem pretty daunting. So we were so relieved and felt prepared about the labour/birth process after the 1-day Stork,
Baby and You antenatal class.
We found the approach of the antenatal class of Stork, Baby and You refreshing. Aussie Sue and Kiwi Sue created a calm and relaxed atmosphere with comfy beanbags and exercise balls to ensure mothers-to-
be (or anyone else in attendance) were comfortable throughout the entire day. (The yummy food also helped).
As practising midwives Aussie Sue and Kiwi Sue provided a very informative, friendly and practical class about the labour/birth process and the first weeks as parents. They provided practical
advice about possible scenarios that may arise when you are in labour and this information enabled us to feel comfortable about the upcoming labour and partly prepared for any possible situations that could
arise throughout the birth process. This information also enabled us to be aware of current hospital practices and policies, which was helpful to know when we should go into the hospital and what to expect during and after labour. Their passion to inform, encourage and involve support persons about the birthing process was overwhelming. After the class, Steve felt so confident, relaxed and proud to be part of such a life changing experience. It became evident that their depth of knowledge about the labour, birth process and dealing with newborns confirmed their combined 50 years of experience as midwives.
By the end of the class, Steve and I felt very confident, comfortable and reassured about the upcoming labour, birthing process and dealing with our newborn after the 1-day class. We were so grateful for the informative and relaxed class and fabulous information packs (which is handy for any mother-to-be as it is hard to absorb so much information in 1 day) containing information on labour, breastfeeding, newborn behaviour and dealing with babies (I still refer to this on occasion!!).
Thank you so much Aussie Sue and Kiwi Sue for such an informative, friendly and relaxed class. Stork, Baby and You exceeded our expectations and I would have no trouble recommending you to any parents-to-be.
Cheers
